Adam worked for BMW & Jaguar franchises in the 1980's and then opened his first Garage in Bury St Edmunds in 1990 selling all Prestige Marques including Porsche. He bought his first 911 3.0 SC at the age of 28 and was bitten by the bug. He ran the business with his wife Jill and they bought and sold prestige cars for many years before dealing solely in Porsche's which became Adam's true passion.
Adam and Jill had always wanted a dedicated workshop to prepare their cars to their own exceptional standard with no expense spared. That ambition became a reality when they met Andy Curd our Workshop director and Reason Porsche was born. The business has evolved to a fully equipped independent Porsche Service Centre and we now have 5 factory trained Porsche Tecnicians with almost 120 years experience between them. We now concentrate solely on servicing but are always happy to offer advice regarding purchases.
Sadly Adam was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease in 2024 and passed away in July 2025. Even in his final months Adam was at work and was so very proud of the business. Adam is missed every day by all of us but we continue to build on his legacy and maintain the highjest standards of work and customer service he instilled in the business. Jill continues as director alongside Andy and manages the day to day running of the business supported by Saffron,Philip and all the team.
Andy Curd
REASON Porsche Master tech & Workshop director
Andy originally joined us as Workshop Director but has now stepped up to assist Jill in running the business. He was a Porsche factory trained senior technician for over 10 years in Porsche East London with a further 20 years with other Porsche Independent Specialists. He is also a fully trained & accredited ADAS technician.
Andy says "We look forward to meeting Porsche owners and providing them a dedicated service that will exceed main dealer expectations.
We are a Mobil Service Centre and have the latest PIWIS factory diagnostics, including laser alignment and now ADAS. we use Porsche recommended parts with Mobil 1 fully synthetic oils to keep your cherished Porsche in tip top condition without breaking the bank".
Mike Cromwell
REASON Porsche Master tech
Mike joined us in 2020, after 20 years at Porsche East London where he worked alongside Andy Curd. Mike is factory trained on every model Porsche has produced in the last 20 years and comes with a wealth of experience together with an eye for detail that only Porsche drivers expect and deserve. Mike has exceptional diagnostic skills using our latest PIWIS factory Porsche diagnostic equipment, also being Hybrid trained and is a qualified HVT (High Voltage Technician). Mike enjoys working on the later Porsche models including Macan, Panamera and Cayenne as well as 911 and Boxster/Caymans
John Martin
REASON Porsche Master tech
John joined us in 2021 after 33 years at Porsche Colchester where he worked since leaving school at 15.
He is factory trained on every model Porsche has produced in the last 35 years and comes with a wealth of experience together with an eye for detail that only Porsche drivers expect and deserve. John has exceptional engine building skills and particularly enjoys working on some of Porsche's more iconic sports cars especially the more classic Porsche's.
John is probably one the best & most experienced factory trained air cooled technicians in East Anglia
Mark Halsey
REASON Porsche Master tech
Mark joined us in 2023, having previously worked as a Master Tech at Porsche East London for 22 years and alongside Andy and Michael. He is factory trained on every model Porsche has produced in the last 30 years and fits into our team perfectly. Mark also comes with a wealth of experience and is meticulous in his craft. Mark is an integral part of our experienced team at Reason Porsche. He is also HVT trained to work on the latest Taycan electric vehicles.
Lucas Virdee
REASON Porsche Master Tech
Meet Lucas, our newest addition to the Reason Porsche team. Lucas is a fully qualified Porsche technician who has joined after 8 years at Porsche Colchester. He is particularly skilled with diagnostics and trained on both the latest models and recently completed classic training. Lucas is also fully EV trained and will be part of the companies long term strategy and evolution.
Saffron Hill
REASON Porsche Parts Manager & Service Advisor
Saffron is the diamond in the Reason Porsche team. With 20 years of experience in motor trade and having worked as a Parts Manager for a Porsche main dealer, Saffron is a fully qualified technician who is passionate about cars. She is now our dedicated Parts Manager & Service Advisor and will be assisting Jill & Andy in ensuring the smooth running of our business. Saffron is a true petrol head who lives and breathes cars both at work and in her personal life.
Philip Clare
Reason Porsche Customer Service & Support
Philip joined the Reason Porsche team in March 2025 after moving to the area and reconnecting with Adam who he had known 30 years previoulsy. Although from a completely different background Philip has a great passion for cars and worked closely with Adam in his last months to understand and support all aspects of the business.
